It describes the vision of self-organizing manufacturing facilities. Already today, robots are being used throughout the automotive industry. In the course of production, malfunctions occur time and again that lead to downtimes or even production stoppages. Unexpected and unnecessary additional costs and delivery delays are the result. Static maintenance at fixed intervals only helps to a limited extent and leads to further unnecessary downtimes and consumption of spare parts. Therefore, our customer was looking for a software solution to minimize future failures and time losses in its production for car bodies. This solution should analyze the behavior of the welding robots used as automatically as possible in order to be able to detect and predict faults at an early stage (predictive maintenance).[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="The Solution" tab_id="1508250369051-4a626d72-344d"][vc_column_text]Predictive maintenance is based on the analysis of historical plant data using statistical methods and advanced methods of machine learning. The mathematical models developed here are used to predict the future behavior of the system and help to identify critical plant conditions in good time. The basis was the creation of a temporally synchronous history of the status information and fault messages. Subsequently, the characteristic behavioral patterns of the individual production cycles of body manufacturing were identified and transferred to normalized states. Together with the department, practical misconduct was determined and the relevant production cycles examined for possible sources of error and dependencies. Using non-linear classification algorithms, the relationships between the behavior patterns and fault messages could be modeled within the production cycles. In the future, forecasts will be made regarding the probability of failure of individual devices and potential causes of failure will be investigated. The models were trained in a Hadoop cluster. Distributed processing with Spark will streamline and accelerate the analysis.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="The Result" tab_id="1508252697978-ef0a40d1-ea09"][vc_column_text]A system has been developed to continuously analyze the behavior of industrial robots and connected components and to predict events in the future. Behavior models were used to create a kind of fingerprint for each robot. Based on prediction models make allow to determine the probability of failure of individual devices and production sections. The malfunctions predicted in this way are displayed to the customer. As a result, those responsible can intervene preventively even before a fault occurs. This not only avoids operational stoppages, but also reduces the consumption of wear and machine parts. This means that robot-based processes can be maintained in line with requirements and the causes of faults can be traced. New challenges arise in data processing and data transmission, within the framework of this paradigm shift from driver to autopilot with the goal of fully automated and networked driving. The modern car collects information on location, speed, road users and traffic signs, among other things. In order to process this high volume of data and to play back analysis results in the car, an almost real-time system is necessary. Therefore, the technical solution space for such an analysis system should be evaluated and implemented in the project. The goal was to identify the most powerful stream processor and design a virtualizable environment that simplifies deployment of stream processors and optimizes their resource utilization in the Hadoop cluster.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="The Solution" tab_id="1508250369051-4a626d72-344d"][vc_column_text]To identify the most suitable stream processor, a local environment was set up in the first step, which allows the different stream processors to be configured and scaled. The individual process steps of data processing were implemented as independent, reusable components. The advantage is that the stream processors can be used unchanged and thus remain comparable. Appropriate performance indicators (KPI) and user stories were defined as prerequisites for the evaluation. The KPIs refer to customer-specific requirements, such as latency, throughput or functionality in monitoring and the provision of streaming tasks. The user stories also cover the "soft skills" of the stream processors. The subsequent evaluation provided information on weak points and possibilities for optimizing data processing with the various stream processors and their individual components. In the next step, the developed proof-of-concept was established on the customer's own Hadoop cluster. TIQ Solutions implemented this on the basis of a virtualized environment using containers and an easily scalable big data architecture.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="The Result" tab_id="1508252697978-ef0a40d1-ea09"][vc_column_text]A big data platform was provided to test and analyze stream processors. After completion of the evaluation, the customer received a concrete recommendation for the most suitable stream processor and the optimal configuration of the streaming data processing path. Our customer can now independently create and test data processing lines between his vehicles and the analysis system according to the application. In particular, it is possible to configure and scale the process steps with regard to validation, transformation and process flow (dispatching). Today, landline telephony, television and internet are being offered from a single source via the same network infrastructure (triple play). Sound, image and data are transmitted IP-based via data packets. Telekom Deutschland has a nationwide, complex communication network. As a result of digital progress, new technologies and hardware manufacturers are constantly being introduced into the existing network. In order to keep pace with this dynamic, Deutsche Telekom uses a software system to analyze the quality and availability of its services and to monitor the utilization of the network infrastructure. In addition, Deutsche Telekom also planned to further expand the scope and sound quality of its HD programs and the functionalities of its services. The resulting increase in data volume would no longer have been controllable for the existing analysis system. TIQ Solutions, as a long-term consultant for the existing solution, therefore recommended switching to a new big data system.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="The Solution" tab_id="1508250369051-4a626d72-344d"][vc_column_text]The architecture of the new big data system and its technological implementation were developed in workshops lasting several days together with the IT and the specialist department. For the first time, big data's powerful processing mechanisms made it possible to separate the technical data model from technical barriers during loading. TIQ Solutions also specified the necessary applications, their rights and the routing between the nodes in the cluster and the external QlikView server providing the visualization. The Oracle database has been replaced by Hive. Here, TIQ Solutions developed a generator that creates the various Hive table objects including their attributes for the more than 30 heterogeneous data sources, thus generating the database semi-automatically. Data processing was implemented with the Oozie Workflow Scheduler and replaced Informatica. For the Hadoop cluster, a rights and roles concept based on Kerberos was then designed and implemented. The historical data was initially migrated to the Hadoop cluster. For the business users, the usual access to the raw data via SQL statements was established via the HUE web frontend hue. During the migration of the business intelligence application QlikView®, TIQ Solutions primarily advised on optimizing the loading logic.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="The Result" tab_id="1508252697978-ef0a40d1-ea09"][vc_column_text]The existing classic, purely relational database system was successfully transferred to a big data system. The new options eliminate aggregations and filters for limiting data volumes. This greatly increased the resolution of the data (granularity), the scope of the history and the consistency of the observable periods. This gives Deutsche Telekom a more precise picture of the state of its network and the current quality of the IPTV and VoIP services offered (Quality of Service). The resulting long-term observations are now more comprehensive and help to detect creeping state changes. The distributed processing in the cluster has made it possible to increase the load of raw data during the day and gives the department a quicker overview of the current transaction data. The use of the Cloudera Hadoop distribution and the integrated applications for data integration and data retrieval provided a consistent system. Within the product package "T-Home Entertain" the customers of Deutsche Telekom receive a broadband connection, which offers the opportunity to use these services via an IP-based connection. To ensure the availability and quality of this product and its components, a solution to monitor and evaluate, and appropriate means to deduce necessary measures for improvement are needed.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title="The Solution" tab_id="1508250369051-4a626d72-344d"][vc_column_text]Within the project, an analysis and monitoring system with measurement points along the product chain in the field of IPTV products has been developed and implemented. As a prerequisite for the monitoring of the process and the measurement points respective operating numbers were defined, due to which qualitative improvements can be identified. The business intelligence software QlikView® was installed as a front-end and analytical tool for the metrics-driven end-to-end diagnosis of interferences at the customer’s product or at the systems. The databases of all relevant source systems were integrated into a data mart via a multi-stage ETL process. In this process specific mechanisms to ensure the data quality and thus to guarantee significant results were constructed. At this point, QlikView was deployed again, as a monitoring solution for indicators to safeguard the quality of the data. At the same time, a metadata model for the management and analysis of quality and process information has been integrated. The data integration and data quality management architecture was implemented on the basis of Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica Data Quality. Social media offers an enormous economic potential for the company, since it can draw attention to the city as well as to the region in an easy and inexpensive manner and can also promote it touristically and economically. Through Social Media, LTM can reach many of its multipliers and target audiences. However, it is a challenge to keep all the channels continuously in view. The complete acquisition of the actual dissemination of their corporate content on the web as well as customer and user interests goes with a lot of effort. Our “TIQ Social Observer”, which is based on QlikView® and QVSource, is performing a social media monitoring and analytics, in which the Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as the company’s YouTube channel are being analyzed. In this way the latest information about own activities and respective user responses are ensured. Operational evaluations, such as “When are users active” or “Which are my top posts” are being available through this application. Long-term analyses, such as the development of actions and reactions over time, are also included. Thus, the opinion about the company as well as respective key issues are noticeable. TIQ Solutions guarantees a solution constantly based on the customer’s needs through regular joint workshops with LTM. With the use of “TIQ Social Observer” thematic analyses of these platforms will be carried out from now on. In addition to statistical analyses, the opinion on a specific topic is being collected and edited. “GAparazzo”, a solution developed by TIQ Solutions, was also implemented. This analysis tool monitors the blog of LTM. Due to “GAparazzo” it is possible to evaluate hits on the blog and to analyse visitor trends of the page in that way.
